Our little daredevil

A few weeks back we had Zoo to you come to one of our Sparks meetings.
Zoo to you is a mini zoo on the go and they have lots of reptiles and animals that kids can interact with that are "friendly"!

The girls (and Gabriel) were each given an opportunity to touch the animals and have a snake around their neck.
Gabriel was all over this idea (Emma not so much!). I have to say I wasn't at all surprised when he wanted to hold the taranchula but when the holder suggested that anyone who wanted it to crawl across their face needed to lay down...I was a little shocked to see him laying there!

He loved every minute of it and when asked what it felt like he said "funny because it tickled me"!!

Drysdales Tree farm

A few weeks back we went with Grandma and Papa to cut down their Christmas Tree.
We lucked out and had very mild weather which made for an enjoyable morning.
We took the wagon out to the very back of the tree farm and while searching for the perfect tree the kids (along with all their aunties and uncles) enjoyed a snowball fight!

After we got the tree Papa treated us all to a hot dog and hot chocolate!

Christmas Day

We had a wonderful Christmas day.
We spent the morning at home where the kids enjoyed playing with all the treats that Santa brought!
We will never tire of watching the excitement and joy and pure magic that Christmastime and Santa bring!!


While the kids played, Daddy made us a yummy brunch and then we headed to Grandma and Papa's for the afternoon and Christmas dinner.

It was a wonderful day and I feel blessed to have such an incredible husband, children and family. I feel truly spoiled!!

Emma's ballet open house

We're back!!
I haven't blogged in a while as December was a crazy month. Rob was away for a big part of it with work (but he's home now and we're happy as can be :) and when he went away he needed my camera adapter so....between that two bouts of Strep and pink eye (I know fun isn't it?!!) we are finally healthy and have a camera full of pictures of all the fun we've had. So stay tuned!

A few weeks back Emma had her ballet open house where we got to watch her class for the full hour and see what she's been learning since September.
The dance season is broken into two parts. From September through December the girls learn their techniques ( this year Emma is learning bar work which she's pretty excited about) and then from January to June they begin and learn their dance for the end of year recital.
This year Emma is in a ballet/ jazz class which is new and exciting and more challenging!

I am always amazed while watching Emma dance. She has such a love for it and watching her dance with such grace and elegance while moving her body in step with the music...well there are no words! Just a huge grin and tons of pride!!

Two of a kind

Emma and her cousin Robyn having some fun together at Uncle Kevin's 40th birthday party a few weekends ago.

All aboard the Santa train....

Last Saturday we boarded the Santa train for an hour long ride along the countryside.
The trip was round trip and on the way there we had a visit from Santa and each child got a personal visit and was able to sit on his lap and talk with him, which Emma and Gabriel loved!!

Once the train turned around we spent the second half of the trip caroling while sipping hot chocolate and eating gingerbread cookies!

It was an awesome day and defiantly a new family tradition!
