At the Zoo with Auntie Becky

Last Saturday Auntie Becky and I took the kids to the Zoo.
It had been a while since we had last been so it was nice to be back visiting all the animals.

Gabriel went on his first camel ride this visit which he loved and we also took Auntie Becky to pet the sting rays a first for her!

Although I didn't get any pictures of it, we ended our day at the water park as it was super hot that day. The kids loved getting wet and going up and down the water slides.

Saying goodbye

Today's post was going to be about Emma's last day of SK. Instead it is a way of saying good -bye to a dear dear friend.

Today we got the call no one wants. It was our girlfriend Colleen, calling to say that Raideep (her husband and our friend) had passed away on Saturday of a sudden heart attack.



We are unbelievably sad. Raideep was only 45 and leaves behind Colleen and his two children.

Although for the past several years they have lived in Panama we always remained close. We had the pleasure of visiting them back in 2003 and seeing all that Panama had to offer!

Colleen, we are thinking of you during this terrible time and our thoughts and prayers are with you.

We look forward to seeing you later this week, despite the sad circumstances.

Raideep, you will be greatly missed!

Soccerfest weekend

Emma and Gabriel had soccerfest this weekend. Both of them had a game followed by team pictures.
We lucked out and missed the rain both days (they both played at 8am. Emma on Sat and Gabriel this morning) so we stayed dry but are all a little pooped!

As another school year ends we say good-bye to another wonderful teacher.
Emma has really enjoyed being in Mrs. Jone's class and I know is sad to be leaving her.

We'll see you in a few years with Gabriel Mrs. Jones!

A little bit of pampering

My girlfriend Jessica and I took Emma and Celina for a little pampering the day of their graduation!

Strawberry picking

Last week the kids and I went strawberry picking at Brooks Farm with some of Emma's classmates.
We had a fun morning and got lots of great berries!!

Finally!

It only took three and a half years but this spring Gabriel has finally decided he likes the swing!

We have never been able to get him in one and we are not sure what finally convinced him that swinging is fun but we're happy he is enjoying himself!

Gabriel and I have some pretty fun adventures while Emma is off at school.
Last week we went mini golfing and Gabriel was in his element! He loved it so I think it just might be a hot spot this summer (and it helps that he is free!).

Congratulations to Emma on her graduation today from Senior Kindergarten!
It seems like only yesterday you were starting JK but here we are another year done.
We are so proud of our little angel. You have accomplished so much the past two years and we know you are ready for all that grade one brings!
We are also excited that you and Gabriel will be at school together in September and hope you can show him the ropes!

We had a fun afternoon at Emma's graduation ceremony and then at the class picnic in the park.

She has been helping him with all the weeding and this weekend helped plant some vegetables and sunflowers.
